Capturing Your Memories and Turning Your Moments Into Art
It was a rainy day last Saturday (and definitely one of too few rainy days that we've been having lately). The hit and miss of rainy days has made scheduling sessions difficult lately, but with garden crops and fields that need good grass to support livestock, I am definitely among those that says we need more rain to keep things growing. Last Saturday was the type of day that the fields have been needing; a good steady rain almost all day. That said, it threw a bit of a crimp in photo session plans. For the French family, last Saturday was the one time that all of them could get together for the session with all of the kids and grandkids. Luckily, they were troopers and we adapted and made things work for a good, rainy day session.
So, meet Donna, John David, Dakota, Samantha, Lajahara, Shilo, Katilyn, McKenna, Keagan, and Karson. We shot the session at The University of the South in Sewanee, TN, which is a beautiful campus, both inside and out.
The whole group lined up along the columns in Guerry Hall, from one side and then the other. This is where Sewanee's art gallery, etc... is located for all of you art lovers out there.
Like any family, this group has is moments; which is not surprising considering the wide range of personalities between the 3 sisters! Nonetheless, everyone knew that this was something special that Donna wanted as a keepsake, so they all came together and did really well to make the shoot happen despite less than ideal conditions with the weather (we even got Karson to look at the camera quite a bit).
I wonder what Keagan and McKenna were discussing here? Breslin Tower provided a bit more cramped quarters for this large of a group but still a beautiful setting.
The girls and then the guys up along the balcony while I shot from below. Above, the whole group got in on the action.
And the kiddos ... Some sunlight was trying to peek through the rain clouds here...
Katilyn was determined to try sitting in this area here ... so, of course we had to get a shot!
Donna and all of her girls in the walkway in front of Guerry Garth as you come out of Breslin Tower .... not too much longer before Lajahara finds out if her little one who's on the way is going to be a boy or a girl!
And just with her 3 daughters.
Guerry Garth is a gorgeous area for pictures pretty much anytime, but especially when you can get out from under cover into the grassy areas ... we didn't try that last Saturday with the steady rain, though!
Taking advantage of some semi-outside areas where we were still out of the rain.
Thanks Donna and crew for being such troopers despite the weather! I can't wait to shoot another session for you sometime when the weather is pretty and we can let those kiddos run and play!
