Capturing Your Memories and Turning Your Moments Into Art
I am finally caught up enough on editing to begin sharing my most recent sessions with you on the blog! And, where better to start than the anniversary session for Katie's Sizzlin Styles?
Any of you that follow this blog on a regular basis know that Katie is who I work with for my Beautiful You! sessions to offer my ladies the ability to have a full pampering experience, from preparing for their session with a make-over through having their photograph taken. Katie and I are deep into planning her Beautiful You! session, which will be fun to share with you when we complete it in a few weeks!
I began my photography business for many reasons, but one of them was that I wanted to open up an avenue to meet people and form new friendships. That goal has certainly been accomplished with meeting Katie, who has become a friend, my hair stylist, and a person to encourage me and give me a kick in the pants to keep going when I get discouraged with my business. With all of that in mind, it was an honor to be able to help her celebrate 5 years in business. Think about that ... 5 years in business is a HUGE deal, because it signifies having reached some stability with your business and a higher likelihood that it's going to last (many businesses are lucky to make it 1-2 years).
I normally do not bring my girls along to sessions with me but the day of Katie's celebration I didn't have a choice since traffic interfered with my husband making it home before I needed to head to Katie's. I think that Katie's little boy was glad that I had to bring the girls, though, since they all played together and seemed to have a good time ... I guess everything works out for a reason, huh?
I also made it in time to catch Katie and her best friend, Erin, putting the finishing touches on decorations. Btw, Erin has her own business creating crafts, etc... for parties, crochet scarves, etc..., so give her a holler if you need help.
Speaking of decorations (and other fun party stuff) ...
I also captured some of Katie's "tools of the trade".
For those of you wondering what to look for when visiting Katie's shop the first time, the simplest identifier is her sign that's in the first photograph of this blog post; but, here's a shot of the outside of her shop for you as well.
Katie just got a new (fur) baby, who is her project on training and is the future of her Siberian Husky breeding program.
Before things got started, Katie and I managed to sneak in a few business headshots ...
The balloon decided to join in the action here, lol!
It wasn't a very big turnout, but everyone there enjoyed themselves!
Well ... almost everyone ...
The poor thing was worn out from the day!
Here are some of the shots taken to give Katie options to include with the write-up about her anniversary in the Grundy County Herald.
What are friends for if not to torment you? Erin was having a lot of fun at Katie's expense (who was being oblivious to Erin's antics here) during these shots. It was nearly impossible for all of us to stop giggling enough to get a decent shot!
Congratulations Katie on the 5 year anniversary for Katie's Sizzlin Styles! All of you check her out when you need your hair and/or make-up done!
