Capturing Your Memories and Turning Your Moments Into Art
Well, it's a new year and starting off just as busy as 2014 ended! As I mentioned in my Weddings Round-up post, I've been bad lately about just posting the galleries and not getting the blog posts done. Hopefully I'll do better on that in 2015! For now, though, here's a look at some of the sessions that did not get blog posts in 2014.
MaryAnn contacted me the end of September to see if I could do this quick session in October 2014. Turkey was in a wedding and MaryAnn knew that it would be a very rare occasion (if ever again) before she got him dressed up in a suit again. Needless to say, she wanted to make sure that she documented the occasion! I think that the photos got them in a bit of trouble, lol, because everyone assumed at first that they had decided to go off and get married without telling anyone, whoops, lol! Either way, it was a quick, but fun session.
Then we had Kashius with his infant lifestyle session. His mom didn't really have any professional photos from his first year in life since it was cold and he has some health issues when he was born that kept them from doing an outdoor session, which is what she really wanted. So, since the point when we did his session was only a few months from his first birthday, she decided that she'd better get some photos! And, no, Kashius was not interested in cooperating with leaving the baseball cap on, lol.
He was interested in eating hay and corn ....
.... and walking on daddy's head and being tickled by daddy.
I also had the Miller's lifestyle session in October 2014 to capture some newborn shots of their youngest (Olivia) and 2 year old shots of their oldest (Addison). Thanks for being repeat clients! It's hard to believe that 1 year before I was shooting Addison's cake smash!
October was the time for newborns, with sweet Dani's newborn session a few days later.
I shot Jason and Alex's couples session back in January but held off on a blog post until they had a chance to make sure all of their family knew about their marriage (they eloped). Then, in October, we were a part of their anniversary party. I was there as a guest, but I also made sure that they had some photos to document the occasion.
There was Mallory's lifestyle session with her cousins. Mallory originally contacted me about being her wedding photographer, but when things fell through on the wedding, she and her cousins turned this session into an opportunity to get a good photograph for their grandmother's Christmas present.
Speaking of gifts, this session was the Ruiz family's birthday gift to Mrs. Ruiz. Each family group chose color themes for their individual family shots and then we worked in a few shots of the full family as well.
The shot that tells it all for why this was such a perfect birthday gift for Mrs. Ruiz ... the last time the family had family photos taken was when the picture in this shot was taken ... when their daughter, who's now a teenager, was a baby!
November brought Eli's birthday and his 2 year old session! Fun fact, I have spent both his first and second birthdays with him ... yes, his sessions were on his birthday! His mom loved his first birthday shots from Downtown Memphis (Main Street) and the Peabody so much that she wanted a repeat of the location and similar shots (to show how much Eli has grown and changed) this year. He's definitely a lot more active as a 2 year old!
We can't forget my ladies who were part of my Beautiful You! model call when I was trying out some new poses!
Another Christmas present session was Kay, Janie, and Cameron's lifestyle session. We cut this one close for Christmas, shooting the session the Saturday before Christmas, but we had enough time to get the session done and get the one photo that they needed edited and to them before Christmas (the rest came later).
Their dog being in this shot was not planned, he just inserted himself in there ... but he did pose for us ... I guess he really wanted to be a part of the session, lol!
Cayleigh just turned 2 as well! Her 2 year old session was about a month after her birthday since we've been fighting the different bugs and viruses going around and I wasn't about to try a session when she wasn't feeling well. But, she was feeling great the day we shot this session and was really enjoying that she got to go outside (even if it wasn't for very long since, although warmer than it had been, it was still pretty chilly that day).
The good thing about her session being delayed, we got to work her Christmas hat and scarf that I crocheted into her outfit.
Last but not least was Carol and Dean's Anniversary Party. Although we were going as guests, Laura, their daughter asked me if I could bring my camera to help her make sure that we captured some moments from the party. My primary focus was the kids as they played at the party, but we also got some group shots of the family.
I think this about sums up this fall and winter to get things caught up! It's been fun sharing some memories with all of you!
